What if I don’t register my purchase?
Unfortunately equipment purchased between January 1st 2010 and December 31st 2011 which is not registered with us on the Upgrade Pass will not be covered by Audio-Technica’s Upgrade Pass scheme and users will not be eligible to buy discounted replacement product from us when the time comes. It is therefore extremely important you register your purchase with us.
Why aren’t the 700 Series or 2000 Series included in the Upgrade Pass?
Most users of the 700 Series and 2000 Series systems will not be using more than 4 channels and these users can continue to use these both systems with UP TO 4 channels free from any licensing issues after the changeover.
I understand I am now able to use wireless equipment operating in channel 38, does Audio-Technica have any solutions in this channel?
It is correct that as of January 4th 2010, it became possible to use channel 38 for wireless microphones, however, due to regional restrictions, it is not legal to use this equipment nationwide. It is illegal to operate in channel 38 in certain areas until 2012 - the map of the UK below shows the restricted areas, and you will see most notably it covers a 100km section around Cambridge and the north east of London and a 200km section around Birmingham. Due to these restrictions, Audio-Technica does not regard this as a useable solution for the majority of its customers today.
